StarCraft (스타크래프트) is a game made by the Korean Blizzard Company (한국어 블리자드 회사). It is one of the two National Sport of Korea, with the other being the Touhou Project (the latter since 2008).

It's motto: "A New Generation of Korea. Experience Korea Like Never Before."

The game was originally made back in 1998. Since then, StarCarft has grew and expanded and by 2000, 85% of Koreans played the game. In 2001, StarCraft Cafés were established in some of the major cities, and later on some small towns and villages.

The online game and home version are updated by the Korean Blizzard Company and sometimes releases/give new stuff, features, characters, space ships etc.

However after the release of 東方地霊殿 ~ Subterranean Animism in 2008, it was challenged by StarCraft, and soon Subterranean Animism was played by the remaining Koreans who didn't play StarCraft.

By 2010, StarCraft II was released and soon the Koreans who played the original quickly got the game and played it. Like the last one, it is constantly updated to include new stuff.

There are mods that can put in elements and few characters from Subterranean Animism and Undefined Fantastic Object, but is rare to find. The reason why it's rare is to keep the ScarCraft pride.
